6 Simple Keys to Manifesting

This is the time of year most of us consider the past year and/or create a plan for the upcoming months. We call these goals our New Year Resolutions which is a high bar for us to reach in most cases; the excitement of setting new goals and making a fresh start overpowers our normal self-talk and we want to shoot for the stars! Nothing wrong with that - it is good to want to improve our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

Resolution: 1. a firm decision to do or not to do something.

2. the quality of being determined or resolute.

So in making a New Year Resolution, we are making a decision (a pact with ourself) to make an improvement of some sort in our life, and at the time we create that list we are resolute, firm in our belief that we can achieve this next level of our hopes and dreams… this year, this time because we are fired up, ready to make the changes needed or clear those obstacles that have kept us from our goal in the past.

For many, this elation and enthusiasm quickly fades within 1-3 months, leaving behind the feelings of failure, shame, regret or blame. Even if goals are reset, much of that initial fire in the belly has dissipated and the expectation of being successful withers away until the next New Year. It’s a catch 22 that leaves so many feeling like they are just spinning their wheels.

RESOLUTION vs INTENTION

Intention: 1. a thing intended; an aim or plan.

I see intention as giving us more flexibility. Yes, I plan to do (this) in this way. If it works out via an alternate method, I am still happy and grateful for reaching my goal. I knew it would happen somehow. It has taken me so long to trust in the Divine, to loosen my grip on controlling the outcome as well as every step along the path… my mind and temperament was so invested in being my own power-force that I couldn’t accept the power of expectation that comes from true faith in a Higher Power or Universal Truth.

“Intention” is getting a lot of attention. You can find reels, videos, workshops, and books on how to use the power of intention to get what you want. I personally use intention to help me create the life I want; I probably have a different process than you, because our intentions are personal and the way we develop and use them are unique to our own needs & desires. Even if you are following an example, you will incorporate your own actions and create your own distinctions. Devising a technique that works best for you takes time, energy and devotion.

I feel like I am ‘almost there’, as there are times when I can manifest a thing immediately (like healing a sprain or overcoming a fear), yet, other times I wonder what I’m doing wrong (no, excuse me) I wonder where I could better!
